Who Can Be Sponsored?

Depending on the sponsor’s visa category and eligibility, family sponsorship may be available for:

Spouse

Legally married husbands or wives may be sponsored upon submission of an attested marriage certificate and supporting documents.

Children

Golden Visa holders can generally sponsor their children under the applicable UAE immigration regulations. Birth certificates and supporting documents are required.

Parents

Eligible sponsors may also sponsor their parents, subject to immigration requirements, health insurance, and supporting financial documentation.

Newborn Children

Children born in the UAE can be added to the sponsor’s residency file and obtain UAE residency through the family sponsorship process.

Family Sponsorship Eligibility

To sponsor family members, the primary applicant must hold a valid UAE residence permit, such as:

• Other eligible UAE residency categories

The sponsor must maintain a valid residence permit, Emirates ID, and health insurance coverage where required.

Documents issued outside the UAE generally require attestation and legal translation before submission.

Family Sponsorship Process

Step 1 – Eligibility Assessment

• Government fees are charged separately for each sponsored family member.
• Medical fitness testing, Emirates ID processing, health insurance, document attestation, and translation costs may apply separately depending on the applicant’s circumstances.
• Family residence permits are generally issued for the same validity period as the primary Golden Visa holder.
• All fees are regulated by the Dubai Land Department (DLD), General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), and Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), and are subject to change without prior notice.

For Golden Visa family sponsorship, the standard government residence permit fee is AED 5,774.50 per dependent, with a one-time sponsorship file opening fee of AED 318.75. Parent sponsorship follows the same government fee structure under the 10-year Golden Visa category.
